Our Story

For as far back as I can remember, doing my makeup has been a form of self-expression.
As a young girl my mother allowed me to rummage through her stash and eventually taught me how to color-match and apply my makeup during my teenage years. Because of our deeper skin tones, many shades of makeup and lipstick did not complement our skin. At times I felt like a spectacle and out of place due to the stares and questionable comments I would receive when I wore lipstick, or feeling like I needed to “play it safe” with certain makeup looks to make others less uncomfortable with my makeup choices.
As time progressed I became an enthusiast experimenting with different lipsticks, makeup products, and makeup looks sharing my favorables online via my social media outlets to anyone like myself that were interested. During this journey many women shared with me their insecurity in wearing certain lipstick shades because of their skin tone, or that would struggle to find comfortable formulas as many on the market had harmful ingredients and would be rough on their lip health causing peeling and/or irritation.
It was each of these experiences that played a role in the creation of KISSED. With these struggles in mind and my love for cosmetics at heart, KISSED was created to not only complement your skin tone, but to also provide a comfortable feel as it wears.
